Eligibility Criteria

• Educational Qualification:
  • Graduate Apprentice: B.E. in the respective discipline (Electrical & Electronics, Civil, Mechanical).
  • Technician Apprentice: Diploma in the respective engineering discipline (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil).
  • Trade Apprentice (ITI): Passed ITI in the respective trade (Fitter, Electrician, MMV, Welder, Instrument Mechanic, Refri. & AC Mechanic, Turner, Plumber, Carpenter, PASAA).
  • Trade Apprentice (Lab Asst.): Passed in B.Sc. (Chemistry) Degree.
  • Note: Qualifications acquired through Distance Learning, Part-Time, or Correspondence mode will not be considered.
• Experience: Not Required.
• Age Limit (as on the last date of application):
  • Minimum Age: 18 years
  • Maximum Age: 25 years
  • Age Relaxation: SC/ST: up to 5 years, OBC (NCL): up to 3 years, PWD: up to 10 years.

Selection Process

Selection will be based on a merit list prepared from the marks scored in the specified educational qualification. The selection is subject to being found “Medically Fit” by IREL’s Medical Officer. The following priority will be adopted for selection:

1. Candidates belonging to the Land Affected Category (with documentary proof) will be given first priority, regardless of marks.
2. Preferential Priority within categories will be given to:
   1. Wards of employees (regardless of marks).
   2. Wards of deceased employees of IREL while on service.
   3. Permanent residents of Chinnavilai, Periavilai, Puthoor and Kottilpadu villages.
   4. Permanent residents of Midalam, Keezhmidalam and Kurumpanai villages.
   5. Candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu State.
   6. Others.

• How to Apply:
  1. Step 1 – Portal Registration (Mandatory):
     • For Trade Apprentices: Register on www.apprenticeshipindia.org (Establishment ID: E05203301006).
     • For Graduate/Technician Apprentices: Register on www.nats.education.gov.in (Establishment ID: STNKKC000004).
  2. Step 2 – Submit Hard Copy Application: Submit the application in the prescribed proforma (Annexure A of the notification) on A4 size paper.
  3. The outer cover must be superscribed with “APPLICATION FOR ENGAGEMENT OF APPRENTICE AGAINST NOTIFICATION NO. IREL (India) Limited/MK/Apprentices Engagement/2025/01”.
  4. The application, along with all required self-attested documents, must be sent by post.
