Eligibility Criteria

• Age Limit (as on 13/09/2025): 18 to 27 years. Age relaxation up to a maximum of 5 years (10 years for SC/ST) is applicable for meritorious sportspersons.
• Educational Qualification:
  • Tax Assistant: Degree from a recognized University, basic knowledge of computer applications, and a data entry speed of not less than 8000 key depressions per hour.
  • Havaldar: Matriculation or equivalent from a recognized Board.
• Physical Standards for Havaldar:
  • Male: Height: 157.5 cms (relaxable by 5 cms for certain categories), Chest: 81 cms (fully expanded with 5 cms expansion). Physical Test: Walking 1600 meters in 15 minutes.
  • Female: Height: 152 cms, Weight: 48 Kgs (height & weight relaxable for certain categories). Physical Test: Walking 1 km in 20 minutes.
• Sports Eligibility: Candidates must be meritorious sportspersons in any of the 65 listed sports disciplines. Proficiency will be evaluated based on participation in recognized tournaments/events in the calendar years 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025. (Refer to the official notification for the order of preference and list of sports).

Selection Process

The selection process will involve the following stages:

1. Scrutiny of Applications: Applications will be reviewed, and suitable candidates will be shortlisted.
2. Field Trials: Shortlisted candidates will be called for field trials to assess their fitness and performance in their respective sports discipline.
3. Skill/Physical Test:
   • For Tax Assistant: Data Entry Speed Test.
   • For Havaldar: Examination of Physical Standards & Physical Efficiency Test.
4. The tests and trials will be held in Guwahati at the candidate’s own expense.
