Supreme Court of India Recruitment 2025: Apply for 30 Gazetted Court Master Posts!
The Supreme Court of India has invited online applications from eligible Indian citizens for the preparation of a panel to fill 30 vacant posts of Court Master (Shorthand), a gazetted position in its Registry. Eligibility Criteria
(Eligibility conditions to be fulfilled as on 01.07.2025)
- Educational Qualification:
- Degree of a recognized University in India.
- Proficiency in Shorthand with a speed of 120 w.p.m. in Shorthand (English).
- Knowledge of computer operation with a typing speed of 40 w.p.m. on computer.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years’ regular service in the cadre of Private Secretary/Senior PA/PA/ Senior Stenographer in Government/Public Sector Undertakings/Statutory bodies.
- Age Limit: The lower age limit is 30 years and the upper age limit is 45 years.
- Usual age relaxation will be admissible to candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), Persons with Disabilities, Ex-servicemen and dependents of Freedom Fighters, as per Government of India’s Rules.
- There will be no upper age limit for the departmental candidates of the Registry of the Supreme Court of India.
- Additional Weightage: A weightage of 03 marks will be given to candidates who possess a Degree in Law (including BGL/LLB Academic) from a recognized University.
Selection Process
The selection process will consist of four stages:
- Shorthand (English) Test (100 Marks):
- Speed: 120 words per minute for 7 minutes.
- Transcription Time: 45 minutes.
- Maximum mistakes permissible: 5% of the total words dictated.
- Minimum Qualifying Marks: 50.
- Objective Type Written Test (100 Marks):
- Duration: 2 hours.
- Content: 100 MCQs on General English (25), General Knowledge (25), Provisions relating to the Judiciary in the Constitution of India (25), Supreme Court Rules, 2013 (15), and Knowledge of Computer operation (10).
- Minimum Qualifying Marks: 50 for General category, 45 for reserved categories.
- Typing Speed Test on Computer (20 Marks):
- Duration: 10 minutes.
- Minimum Speed: 40 words per minute.
- Mistakes allowed: 2% (8 words) for General category, 3% (12 words) for reserved categories.
- Minimum Qualifying Marks: 10 for General category, 5 for reserved categories.
- Interview (30 Marks):
- Minimum Qualifying Marks: 15 for General category, 13 for reserved categories.
Candidates who qualify the Shorthand and Written Tests will be called for the Typing Test in a 1:10 ratio. Those who qualify the Typing Test will be called for the Interview in a 1:3 ratio.
