The Office of the Director General Assam Rifles has released an advertisement for the Meritorious Sportspersons Quota Recruitment Rally 2025. Online applications are invited from eligible male and female Indian citizens for the post of Rifleman / Riflewoman (General Duty). Pay Scale / Remuneration: Pay scale and other allowances will be as admissible to Assam Rifles personnel as per 7th CPC.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification: Matriculation (10th Pass) from a recognised Board.
Sports Qualification: Players who have participated in any International Competition, National Competitions, Inter-University Tournaments, National Sports/ Games for Schools, Khelo India University Games, Khelo India Youth Games, or Khelo India Winter Games. (Preference order for selection is detailed in the official notification).
Age Limit (as on 01 Aug 2025):
- General & OBC: 18 to 28 years. (Candidates should not have been born earlier than 01 Aug 1997 and later than 01 Aug 2007).
- SC & ST: 18 to 33 years. (Candidates should not have been born earlier than 01 Aug 1992 and later than 01 Aug 2007).
Physical Standard Test (PST):Height and Chest requirements vary based on category and region. Please refer to the detailed chart in the official notification. For example, for All Categories/All over India (except those mentioned below), the height is 170 cms for males and 157 cms for females.

Selection Process

The selection process for the recruitment rally will consist of the following stages:

Candidate Verification & Initial Documentation: Verification of call letters, photo ID, and original documents at the rally site.
Physical Standard Test (PST): Measurement of height and chest as per norms.
Motor Ability Test (MAT) & Field Trial: Candidates who clear PST will undergo a field trial in their respective sports discipline to assess their performance. This is a crucial stage for merit list preparation.
Detailed Medical Examination (DME): Candidates who qualify in the field trial will undergo a medical examination.
Final Selection / Merit List: The final merit list will be prepared based on achievements, level of participation, and performance in the Field Trials.
