Eligibility Criteria

• Educational Qualification:
  • For Junior Superintendent (Library): (i) M.Lib.Sc./MLISc or equivalent from a recognized University/Institute with at least 55% marks OR Master’s Degree in Arts/Science/Commerce with B.Lib.Sc./BLISc with at least 55% marks. (ii) Post Graduate Diploma/Certificate Course in Computer Application/Library Automation (minimum 06 months). (iii) Proficiency in computer office applications like M.S Word, Excel, Power-point.
  • For Junior Technician (Library): Graduate plus Bachelor of Library Science (minimum 55% marks) or Master of Library Science (minimum 55% marks) or equivalent Diploma in Library Science (minimum 55% marks).
  • For Junior Technician (Medical): Class 10th with a 3-year Diploma (minimum 55% marks) in Pharmacy/Physiotherapy OR 10+2 with a 2-year Diploma (minimum 55% marks) in Pharmacy/Physiotherapy.
• Experience:
  • For Junior Superintendent (Library): At least 04 years of working experience in a reputed library in a post in Pay Level-5.
  • For Junior Technician (Library): At least 2 years’ relevant library experience in a reputed organisation.
  • For Junior Technician (Medical): Not Required (Desirable: Experience of Hospitals/Health Centre run by a reputed residential educational Institution).
• Age Limit: (as on 24.10.2025)
  • Junior Superintendent (Library): 35 Years
  • Junior Technician (Library): 30 Years
  • Junior Technician (Medical): 30 Years
  • Age relaxation for SC, OBC-NCL, and PwDs candidates is admissible as per Government of India norms. An additional 5-year relaxation is available for candidates with at least three years of regular service in IITs/NITs/CFTIs. Relaxation is also applicable for regular employees of Central/State Governments and Ex-Servicemen.
• Other Criteria: Candidates currently employed in Government/PSUs must submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC) at the time of Document Verification.

Selection Process

A preliminary shortlisting of candidates will be done based on essential qualifications and experience. The final selection will be based on the performance in a recruitment test, which may include a Written Test, Trade Test, or Computer Proficiency Test, as per the Recruitment Rules of IIT (ISM) Dhanbad. No TA/DA will be paid for appearing in the tests.

The non-refundable application fee must be paid via SBI Collect. Applicants must upload single PDFs containing all requisite educational qualifications and experience certificates.
