Indian Railways Announces Major Paramedical Recruitment 2025! 434 Vacancies Available
The Government of India, Ministry of Railways, through the Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs), has released the Detailed Centralised Employment Notification (CEN) No. 03/2025 for the recruitment of various Paramedical Categories. This is a significant opportunity for eligible candidates to secure a position in the Indian Railways. A total of 434 vacancies have been announced for posts like Nursing Superintendent, Pharmacist, Lab Assistant, and more.
Vacancy Details
The total number of vacancies is 434. The post-wise breakdown is as follows:
- Nursing Superintendent (Pay Level 7): 272 posts
- Pharmacist (Entry Grade) (Pay Level 5): 105 posts
- Health & Malaria Inspector Gr II (Pay Level 6): 33 posts
- Laboratory Assistant Grade II (Pay Level 3): 12 posts
- Dialysis Technician (Pay Level 6): 04 posts
- Radiographer X-Ray Technician (Pay Level 5): 04 posts
- ECG Technician (Pay Level 4): 04 posts

Eligibility Criteria
- Educational Qualification (as on 08.09.2025):
- Nursing Superintendent: Certificate as Registered Nurse and Midwife having passed 3 years course in General Nursing and Midwifery OR B.Sc (Nursing).
- Pharmacist (Entry Grade): 10+2 in Science or its equivalent, with a Diploma in Pharmacy from a recognized institution and registered as a Pharmacist under the Pharmacy Act, 1948 OR Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy (B.Pharma).
- Health & Malaria Inspector Gr II: B.Sc. with Chemistry as a Main/Optional subject, plus a one-year Diploma of Health/Sanitary Inspector OR a one-year National Trade Certificate (NTC) in Health Sanitary Inspector.
- Laboratory Assistant Grade II: 12th (10+2 stage) in Science plus a Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT) OR a Certificate Course in Medical Lab. Technology (minimum one year duration).
- Dialysis Technician: B.Sc. plus a Diploma in Haemodialysis OR two years of satisfactory in-house Training/Experience in Haemodialysis work in a reputed institution.
- Radiographer X-Ray Technician: 10+2 with Physics and Chemistry and a Diploma in Radiography/X-Ray Technician/Radio diagnosis Technology (2-year course).
- ECG Technician: 10+2 / Graduation in Science having a Certificate/Diploma/Degree in ECG Laboratory Technology / Cardiology / Cardiology Technician / Cardiology Techniques from a reputed institution.
Note: Candidates awaiting final results of prescribed qualifications are NOT eligible to apply.
- Age Limit (as on 01.01.2026):
- Nursing Superintendent: 20-40 years
- Pharmacist (Entry Grade): 20-35 years
- Dialysis Technician, Health & Malaria Inspector Gr II, Radiographer, ECG Technician, Laboratory Assistant Gr II: Age limits vary between 18-33 years. Please refer to the detailed notification.
- Age Relaxation:
- SC/ST Candidates: 5 Years
- OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) Candidates: 3 Years
- PwBD (UR): 10 Years
- PwBD (OBC-NCL): 13 Years
- PwBD (SC/ST): 15 Years
- Other relaxations are applicable for Ex-Servicemen, Widows, Divorced Women, etc., as per rules.
Selection Process
The recruitment process will consist of a Single Stage Computer Based Test (CBT), followed by Document Verification (DV) and Medical Examination.
CBT Exam Pattern:
- Total Questions: 100
- Duration: 90 minutes (120 minutes for eligible PwBD candidates using a Scribe).
- Negative Marking: Yes, 1/3rd of the marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.
- Section-wise Marks Distribution:
- Professional ability (as per post syllabus): 70 Marks
- General Awareness: 10 Marks
- General Arithmetic, General Intelligence and Reasoning: 10 Marks
- General Science: 10 Marks
- Minimum Qualifying Marks: UR/EWS – 40%, OBC/SC – 30%, ST – 25%.
Application Process
- Application Fee:
- For all candidates (except fee concession categories): ₹500/- (An amount of ₹400/- will be refunded after appearing in the CBT).
- For candidates belonging to SC, ST, Ex-Servicemen, PwBD, Female, Transgender, Minorities, or Economically Backward Class (EBC): ₹250/- (This fee will be fully refunded after appearing in the CBT).
- How to Apply: Candidates must apply ONLINE through the official websites of the Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs). The process includes creating an account, filling the application form, uploading a live photograph and scanned signature, and paying the examination fee.
